University of Economics - Varna hosts Startup World Cup Varna 2026Maritime Cluster Bulgaria informs its members and partners about the upcoming edition of Startup World Cup Varna 2026 – a regional tournament of one of the most prestigious global initiatives for startups, organized by Startup World Cup and Pegasus Ventures.The event is hosted by the University of Economics – Varna, which in 2026 participates as an official regional partner for Bulgaria. The initiative represents an excellent opportunity for the development of the innovation ecosystem in the region, including in the areas related to the blue economy and marine technologies.
???? The event will be held on June 4, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at the Black Sea Hotel, Bulgaria Hall, Varna, as part of the program of Evolvex Summit 2026 – an international forum focused on innovation, artificial intelligence and intelligent business transformations.
Application and Participation
The application deadline is May 10, 2026 (11:59 p.m.), and applications are submitted online and in English. On May 22, 2026, the ten finalists will be announced, who will present their projects on stage in Varna.
Eligible candidates are startups and innovative companies between 1 and 7 years old, registered as commercial companies (EOOD, OOD, AD or equivalent international forms), with the potential to attract investments.
Opportunities for finalists
The regional winner will have the opportunity to represent Bulgaria at the global final in San Francisco, where they will compete for an investment of 1 million USD, as well as access to a wide international network of investors, mentors and strategic partners.
With over 100 regional competitions on six continents, Startup World Cup attracts some of the most promising startups and technology leaders in the world. Hosting the tournament in Varna contributes to the city’s establishment as a significant center for entrepreneurship, innovation and international cooperation.
