Open call for participation - SustAqua technical group: opportunities for partnerships and innovations in aquaculture

The aquaculture sector in the Black Sea region is developing dynamically, and its sustainable future depends on effective cooperation and innovation. In this context, the Technical Group on Sustainable Aquaculture (SustAqua TG), established in 2023 within the framework of the Common Agenda for the Black Sea, is establishing itself as a key platform for coordination and development of the sector.
 
The group is supported by the Black Sea Support Mechanism (BSAM) and aims to promote sustainable practices, innovation and cross-border cooperation. It brings together a wide range of stakeholders – business, scientific organizations, public institutions and NGOs.
 
The group is currently expanding its membership and invites experts to apply!

Suitable candidates are:
 
  • aquaculture and fisheries specialists
  • researchers and scientists in marine sciences
  • experts in emerging technologies
  • representatives of NGOs and sustainability initiatives
What does participation involve?
• 3–4 meetings per year (at least one in person)
• participation in developing project ideas and consortia
• access to partnerships and funding opportunities
• exchange of knowledge and good practices in an international environment

SustAqua functions not only as an expert group, but as a platform for partnerships that:
  • connects participants from different countries
  • supports the creation of joint projects
  • accelerates the implementation of innovations
