Marine Cluster Bulgaria to Host the 2nd I3FLOAT Project Workshop

 On September 2, 2026, Marine Cluster Bulgaria will host the second workshop of the I3FLOAT project at Beach Hub Burgas, Burgas, Bulgaria, focusing on strategic innovation opportunities for floating offshore wind in the Black Sea region.

Under the theme “Floating Offshore Wind Strategic Innovation Agenda for the Black Sea Region,” the workshop will take place from 13:30 to 16:30 and will bring together representatives from industry, research and academia, public authorities and other stakeholders interested in innovation and the development of the floating offshore wind sector.

The event will provide participants with an overview of the I3FLOAT project, the Strategic Innovation Agenda, and the I3FLOAT Call for Projects. The programme will also explore the next steps and opportunities for organisations and businesses to contribute to the development and deployment of innovative solutions across the European floating wind value chain.

A key element of the workshop will be the collaboration with the Marine Renewable Energy Academy 2026. This partnership brings together complementary expertise, experience and professional networks, creating valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange and new cooperation. This synergy is particularly important for the I3FLOAT project, as stronger connections between regional ecosystems can help maximise the impact of joint efforts and support the development of innovation in floating offshore wind.

The I3FLOAT project aims to strengthen and develop the European floating wind value chain through interregional investments in innovation. Its key objectives include accelerating the commercialisation of innovative solutions, fostering cooperation between regional ecosystems and encouraging the active participation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
