I3FLOAT launches its 1st Open Call for floating offshore wind innovation with a webinar

On 15 September 2026 at 10:00 CET, the I3FLOAT Project will host an online webinar dedicated to its 1st Open Call, presenting new funding and collaboration opportunities for SMEs developing innovative technologies and solutions for the floating offshore wind (FOW) sector.

With a total budget of €2.52 million, the I3FLOAT 1st Open Call will provide grants of up to €60,000 per SME, supporting promising innovations and helping companies bring their solutions closer to market.

During the webinar, the I3FLOAT consortium will introduce the main conditions of the Open Call, explain the proposal submission process and highlight the key information applicants should consider when preparing their applications.

From strategic priorities to concrete opportunities for SMEs

Participants will also be introduced to the Floating Offshore Wind Strategic Innovation Agenda, developed through an extensive collaborative process involving 200 organisations.

The priorities identified through the Agenda have been translated into concrete opportunities for innovative companies. The 1st Open Call will support up to 10 innovative projects addressing the Open Challenges derived from the Strategic Innovation Agenda.

In addition, the call includes 11 Specific Challenges identified by leading companies in the floating offshore wind sector, giving SMEs the opportunity to develop innovative solutions addressing concrete industrial needs.

The Challenge Owners participating in the first call are:

EDF power solutions, Iberdrola, Navantia Seanergies, Qair Group, EnerOcean S.L., EOLINK, Saitec Offshore Technologies, AVENTA, GEODIS, CoreMarine and TETRACE.

During the webinar, participants will receive an overview of these challenges, helping potential applicants identify those that best match their technologies, expertise and innovation capabilities.
