Dimitar Karageorgiev, lawyer

Dimitar Karageorgiev is Master Mariner and lawyer. Practicing attorney at law.

Specialised maritime law at Tulane Law School, New Orleans, USA. Holds Master of Laws, incl. Maritime Law module, (VFU “Ch. Hrabar”) and MSc in Navigation (Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy)

Dimitar gains experience in the maritime industry as Vessel Operator and later on as deck officer on cruise ships. He was part of the start-up team (newbuild) of the world largest cruise ship at the time “Harmony of the Seas” built at STX France (Chantiers de l'Atlantique).

He practices in shipping and commercial law, international private law. Dimitar’s experiences includes ship arrests, litigation and arbitration, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitration awards, advising on maritime industry related contracts and breach of contract claims, acting for companies in court proceedings versus unlawful acts and penalties imposed by Maritime Administration and other government bodies.

Dimitar Karageorgiev is an Associated Member of Marine Cluster Bulgaria.
