SHORT COMPANY INTRODUCTION

Commer International Ltd. was established in 1994 by captain Nikola Hristov.
The company’s main activities are ship brokerage, time chartering, ship agency and forwarding services. Since the establishment Commer International has managed twenty two time chartered vessels (dry cargo, bulk carriers and heavy lifts) with deadweight between 2500 up to 20000 mts. Depending on type and size the vessels have sailed in Black Sea region, Mediterranean, West Europe, Persian Gulf, Africa, Asia and America. The time charter periods have varied from 6 months to 1 year. Some vessels have been chartered in consecutive periods and have been under Commer’s operation up to 5 years period. The great experience in the chartering business allows the stuff of the company to build up a strong partnership with many Turkish, Russian and European ship-owners, based on a mutual benefit and trust.
Since 2007 Commer has started to act as trustful booking agent working with the local offices of container lines calling in Bulgarian ports. Forwarding services became part of services rendered to our customers.
Agency services are also part of activities of the Company.

BACKGROUND

Captain Nikola Hristov has graduated from Naval Academy in 1981. Since 1981 he started his career in Navigation Maritime Bulgaria. Until 1992 he sails on several vessels holding different positions up to a captain. From 1992 to 1994 he worked as manager of Mediterranean liner department in NMB. In 1994 captain Hristov started Commer International Ltd. From 2004 to 2007 he becomes a member of Board of managers of Bulgarian Association of Ship Brokers and Agents (BASBA). In 2007 he was elected for Chairman of BASBA and re-elected for the same position in 2010. Same year captain Hristov was elected as vice-chairman of Bulgarian Chamber of Shipping and member of board of Marine Cluster Bulgaria
