Black Sea - Danube Association of Research and Development (BDCA)Black Sea - Danube Association of Research and Development (BDCA) is an independent non-profit research and development organisation - an association of universities, consultancy, other organisations, and individuals involved in research, training, engineering and advisory activities in sustainable use of marine resources, coastal protection against flooding and erosion, harbour and coastal structures, environmental protection on the western Black sea coast and lower Danube. Among members of BDCA are the University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Sofia), Institute of Fish Resources (Varna), Institute of Ecological Modernisation (Varna), DHI Bulgaria ltd, CORES ltd, KV Eco ltd. The mission of BDCA is to strengthen the links between research and business, through the implementation of research and innovation projects with a direct focus on industry, as well as through extensive training and qualification of researchers and experts from public and private sectors. Researchers and experts from BDCA and its member institutions have participated, and are currently involved, in several research projects funded by the EU (7th Framework Programme, HORIZON 2020, INTERREG Danube TP, CBC Black Sea).
